"I discovered and fell in love with Andrew Sharpley's work in the 90s when he was part of Manchester's experimental electro duo Stock Haussen and Walkman. I managed to meet them during a live show in Paris and a few months later I joined the band by projecting images on stage during their set (It is thus thanks to them that I invaded the cities of Aix-en-Provence and Nantes because after the concerts I spent the night conquering the streets). When in 2011 I set up the “1000” exhibition which celebrated my 1000th Parisian space invader, I asked Andrew if he would play live on the opening day in the huge electricity substation where the event took place. He performed a 4 hour mix in which he used and grinded dozens of tracks which included the words Space Invaders. Finding this material back in 2020, we decided to make an album of it, first as a digital download on Bandcamp, then as a LP vinyl limited to 1000 copies."
